Final Good Bye

Deniss giving his long time teacher a last hug before we left on Monday for the last time. Many tears were shed that morning.

Children at Play, Orphanage at Likumi

Various pictures I took of the younger children at play at the Orphanage Likumi. The first image is not play, but preparing the field for play. I explained in another blog about the way they cut the grass. A weed eater makes for a lot of work but they (the kids) do all the grounds work.

A Different Brain Trust

Dougness, our Driver for this trip, Dinah our Facilator/Lawyer and Zenta the Orphanage Director, and Robin has her back to the camera.

Then and Now

If you think the lines on this primitive soccer are brown, they are. The boys at the orphange cut the field with a weed eater, not a lawn mower, then get a different color soil from around the river to make the lines. This is the same field you saw in the Adoptlatvia blog in January.

Just a friendly game of football...basketball to name a few. If you do not recognize Deniss in the pic he is the one with no shoes.

THE NEW FAMILY at HOME

This picture is of the family that will still be living at home. Ken, Robin, Aaron and Deniss. The is a son and daughter in law, Bobby and Lana Hartzog, that are living in McKinney TX. We do not have a picture of the six of us at the moment. We plan to fix that problem this summer when Bobby and Lana come to PTC and spend some time with us, so keep checking the sight.

BOYS WILL BE BOYS

This blog will be a sister blog to www.adoptlatvia.blogspot.com. It will consist mainly of pictures of our travels and get together from beginning to the current day. As most of you already know we started this process about one year ago, and now we will be picking Deniss up in just a few hours.

We landed in Riga, Latvia at 11:55 PM on June the 3rd. Our facilitator will be picking us up at 7:00 AM for the three hour drive, to Likumi, the orphanage where Deniss has spent most of his life. Today, June the 4th 2007 he will start living with us, his new family forever. He never thought it would happen, but he has seen the power of prayer, faith and love, without which none of this would have been possible. This blog will be main a picture story and I will maintain the other blog with the details both good and bad. So now you will have two sights to enjoy and follow our story.
